Crowdfunding: A good way to kickstart the online innovation culture in South Africa? I'd really like to present this, and get feedback and ideas as this is something I want to launch ASAP. It is also the topic of our panel discussion at SxSW in March. I'd like to run a brainstorming session, and see where it leads. I think we should include a theme on how the internet can support and expand economic activity in SA. All the commercial potential should be realisable for the bottom end of the market -- from lowering transaction costs for farmers, to reducing travel needs for rural people, to finding new markets for products, to sourcing cheaper goods and services. If it does so, this will drive user adoption too, despite the exorbitant cost of bandwidth in SA. This is the broader theme behind my hobby horse (mobile and online payments).

Err, sorry, for clarities sake, this is not something I want to present on, this is a conversation I wish to be involved in, and learn about
